Fashion Merchandising major at FIT that was once a thespian.

So the Jonas Brothers decided to do a medley of cover songs, one of them being Ed Sheeran’s ‘The A Team’. I don’t know what to do with myself. Just watch and listen.

» The next Jonas Brothers' single is called...

Pom Poms.

No, I’m not kidding. I don’t get it, either.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICK JONAS!

Happy Birthday to my fellow New Yorker, Nick Jonas. Hope to see you in Starbucks sometime soon ;)

Just kidding… maybe.

Nick Jonas helps ABC’s Lara Spencer punk her fellow “Good Afternoon America” co-host Josh Elliott. He gets all hot and bothered.

» Nick Jonas to be next 'American Idol' judge?

The youngest JoBro could be the next judge on American Idol. Could this be because his brother Joe is a judge on the new musical show ‘The Next’?

» Remembering Boy Bands

Here’s a piece I did at StyleCaster back in March when One Direction was just rising to fame.

Check out a look back on the some of music’s best boy bands. Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys and Hanson was included.

I think How to Succeed in Business without really trying was amazing. i've seen many broadway shows but most is just some writers trying to "vamp up" and change old stories, but how to succeed had so much originality yet was classic that you just don't see anymore. And Finch wasn't "cartoonish" he's supposed to be a young over eager guy trying to make it to the top (comically) Nick played it brilliantly. Maybe because you're used to seeing him as a Jonas Brother you didn't find it as appealing?

The one reason why I said he was “cartoonish” is because when I saw another classic show, my dad had mentioned that he thought the lead male was being this way and Nick reminded me of that. If his character is supposed to be eager, then yes, Nick did exactly that and a great job.

Whether I’m used to seeing him as a Jonas Brother or not, I watched the show from the point of view of how I watch every Broadway show. I’ve seen almost thirty musicals and plays and every time I go to one, I critique it as a performer and as an audience member. Saying that I didn’t find it appealing because I’m a Jonas Brothers fan is like telling me I didn’t find Tony Shalhoub appealing in “Lend Me a Tenor” because I was used to seeing him as Monk on TV.

I was simply just putting my opinion out there of the show. Also, I was probably one of the only girls in that audience that was there to see what this musical was about and not just there to only see Nick Jonas.

Review: “How To Succeed”

Friday night, I finally went to to see “How To Succeed” with Nick Jonas! My thoughts on the show?

Well, for one, I was sitting front row so having Nick stare into my eyes at certain moments was amazing. And before I go on, let me just say that I saw him on the street a few hours before the show, so I was already pumped.

When Nick finally got on stage, you could see his face just light up. As long-time Jonas Brothers fans and fellow thespian, it as thrilling to Nick on the Broadway stage as opposed to playing an arena with his brothers.

However, I thought that Nick’s character, Finch, was too cartoonish. I couldn’t tell if he was supposed to act that way or if Nick was just trying too hard to be an actor. Also, the first act is way too long and predictable. That show doesn’t really need a second act at all.

What really bothered me about the typecasting of Michael Urie’s role. Playing the flamboyant part of Bud Frump didn’t seem that far away from his old role on Ugly Betty. That annoyed me because I was really looking forward to seeing him in a new light but that light never really shone.

What I just wrote may seem like I’m bashing the show (and yes, it is closing), but it really is cute. I thought Beau Bridges was fantastic, even though the guy isn’t much a singer. And Tammy Blanchard as Hedy La Rue was spot on with her performance.

Overall, this show is definitely one to catch before it leaves Broadway. Who knows when it will be revived again, and Nick Jonas is definitely brings something to the table here. You have a week to catch the last performances so go!!!

Before I end this post, I just want to mention one REALLY exciting part about my night; Mayor Bloomberg was there and I basically walked right behind him to my seat without noticing him till I had passed him. He seemed really nice and was talking to anyone that walked up to him. I’ve never been in a room with someone of such power like him.

» 'How to Succeed' to close May 20th
