One Direction Has Infected America!
Before I go into my One Direction weekend, let me tell you what happened to me Thursday night. Out of nowhere on the street, I saw a group of girls surrounding a familiar looking boy. Who was it? None other than Niall Horan of One Direction! I went over, asked for a picture and whatnot and he was a doll, though his body guard was rushing him. Thanks, Niall!
Friday night was probably one of the best nights of my life. Why? Because One Direction came to Radio City! I have been waiting since JULY for them to be right here in New York performing! Thankfully, March 9th was that day. And boy, was it amaZAYN!
The boys opened for Big Time Rush for their Better With U tour. Though BTR may have been the main act, at least 85% of the fans that I saw were all there for One Direction. How crazy is that? Their set was incredible and really showed just how talented they are. They thanked the fans, BTR, and just had fun on that stage. They must’ve been so excited because everyone knew every single lyric to all of their songs.
I did stay for Big Time Rush and I must say, they were quite good. They dance well, sing well (their cover of The Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” was pretty sick) and really gave their fans a show.
Fast forward to today. I just went to their CD signing at J&R and it was probably the fastest thirty seconds of my life. I waited three hours to get thirty seconds with those boys. Can you say, dedication?!
Was it worth it? Yes, because I got up and close with them. Harry loved my “I’m here for Larry Stylinson” shirt and said he’d follow me on here. Then again, he took my card and kind of put it to the side so, Haz, if you follow me, thank you!
Louis was really quiet and I have no idea if he even saw my shirt. I did see that the boys drew lots of pictures on the table. I asked Liam for a high five because the girls before me said that’s the most touching they could do. Liam smiled and gave me one. I was pretty much forced to pass Zayn and Niall without saying much. Security was rushing everyone during the signing, but it’s okay. I at least got to say something to Hazza!
Someone who I did get to talk to was Niall’s mom. She was taking pictures and talking to those of us who were waiting in the store. I asked her if she was enjoying NYC and she said she was. I told her we were happy to have her and the boys here.
Wow. What a weekend! As someone who first discovered these boys back in July, I cannot believe how much they’ve grown. I have never followed a band from their beginning to where they are now. I knew One Direction would be big here in the US, but didn’t think it would happen this quick. These boys deserve everything that’s been happening to them here in the US. I hope they’re going to stick around for a while. The One Direction Infection is here!

The band was nominated for a BRIT Award yesterday, which was a massive surprise birthday gift for band member Zayn Malik, who turned 19 on the same day.

Do you know what this means?! ONE DIRECTION IS OFFICIAL IN THE US!!!
I’m so excited! Even though my aunt already ordered me the album and is sending it from England, this just gets me so excited! The fact that they’re on iTunes with an official release date means that we may be seeing Zayn, Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis a lot more here in the USA.

It’s a One Direction book! I’m so excited :)
This just made my day and I thought I’d share it with you all. Also, my uncle watched the season of “The X Factor” that One Direction was on and thought that they should have won. I couldn’t agree more.

IT’S HERE!
This is the official and very first music video for the UK band One Direction for their song “What Makes You Beautiful”. There has been much anticipation for this video, which was shot in Los Angeles a few months ago.
Now, I understand that this band isn’t big in the US and they’re just starting to get big in the UK, but the video is kind of mediocre. The great parts are the song, the boys’ looks and the fact that their personalities really show. They don’t need the pretty the girls, they have each other! Can you say bromance?
To One Direction, I’m very proud of you guys. This video is terrific for your first :)
P.S. When they first sing the lyric, “The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed”, Harry flips his hair as he sings the line. Oh, Harry Styles…
