Since starting the semester, I’ve been slowly introducing new pieces into my wardrobe. Whenever I buy new items, I try to get rid of a garment of the same type (ex. I buy a short sleeve t-shirt and get rid of another).
  • Jack Wills tee: Didn’t need this but begged my mom to buy me a shirt from the store when she was in the Hamptons. She picked this one out. It’s a fun shirt to wear when I have nothing else in my closet.
  • Aldo boots: I have really small feet and these were the closet thing to Chelsea boots I could find in my size. They’re really comfortable and were a steal. I call them my Harry Styles shoes.
  • byCORPUS babydoll top: It was only $10. I love any shirt that’s gray and goes with leggings or jeans.
  • BDG jeans: I love BDG denim and was in desperate need of new skinny jeans. I love these so much that I basically wear them almost once a week.
  • Madewell polka dot tee: It was on sale plus I can dress it up or down. Versatility is key.
  • Forever 21 blouse: Something I bought on a whim. The Union Square store is one of the nicer locations in NYC. I thought it was something I could dress up or down. And it’s the first animal print I’ve bought so far.
  • H&M sweater: I received a call from my mom telling me that H&M was having some good deals and it might be worth checking out. She was right. I bought this sweater and one in grey for the price of $30. Pre-Hurricane Sandy retail therapy.

Outfit #8: May 23, 2011

Tunic: BCBG MAXAZRIA
Tank top: Topshop
Jeggings: Forever 21
Boots: Payless

Sorry it took so long to post this photo! This was taken a few hours before I had to move out of my dorm.

I’ve had this tunic for a while now and this is the second time I’ve worn it. It’s hard to match up with things but it seemed to go with my jeggings and I wanted to be comfortable all day. Since it’s a tad low-cut I put a simple white tank top underneath (Topshop is great for tanks! They’re 2 for $18).

The jeggings are from Forever 21 and I only got them for $6.00 on a little shopping trip my friends and I took after class one day. I’m surprised they’ve held up since Forever 21 clothing usually doesn’t.

Well, I might be posting outfits a little less often since I am now living out of suitcases and whatnot. Plus, I’m also trying to get a new camera and I have a lot going on right now…

Forever 21 welcomes Petro Zillia and Rory Beca

Forever 21 will be following the trend of having designer collections in its stores, just like Target and H&M.

Los Angeles-based brands Petro Zillia and Rory Beca were chosen to produce collections for Forever 21 stores. Almost all of the pieces will be priced from $6 to $33. However, WWD notes that two pieces from each brand will be over $100.

This is very exciting news, yet this concept isn’t new for Forever 21. In August, designer Brian Lichtenberg designed a t-shirt collection.

Fashion Deals!!!

Since I have learned the lesson that money flies in the Big Apple, I am always looking for a good deal. That is why I go to Forever 21. Yes, I go to the huge, annoying, tourist-filled store that’s open till 2am! It’s amazing. But I don’t go at 2am.

Anyway, I am not a huge Forever fan but I do find great pieces there. A dress here, a shirt there, some cute, cheap stuff to fill up my wardrobe.

Today I got the best deal! I was looking for some jeggings and found some great pairs there ranging from $6 to $20. I ended up getting the $6 pair and I’m very pleased with them. So if you want some cute jeggings, GO TO FOREVER 21!

Also, American Eagle is having a huge extra 30% off sale on their clearance and you can get jeggings there for about $20. They’re much better quality than Forever. I was actually thinking of going there to get some.

Oh and another deal: BOGO AT PAYLESS! They’ve got some very cute shoes this season.

And always remember: Topshop in SoHo gives a 10% discount when you show you’re student ID!
