As a Tour Guide and Student Ambassador at FIT, one of the most common questions asked relates to student discounts. Since we can’t use our Declining Dollars at restaurants or even retail stores around campus, here are places you can go to save some cash just by flashing your student ID:
- Dunkin Donuts (7th Ave. across from the school and 31st St. across from Kaufman Hall)
- Gigi’s Cafe (across from FIT. Show your ID to get a special discount sticker)
- Crumbs (7th Ave. and 26th St.)
- Ports Coffee (23rd St. between 7th and 8th Avenues)
- Billy’s Bakery (9th Ave. between 21st and 22nd Streets)
- J. Crew and Madewell (all locations give discounts to all schools with ID. Madewell will even take discounts on sale merchandise)
- Topshop (same as J. Crew; gives discount to all school IDs shown)
All of these places give at least 10% to 20% discounts. It’s worth it :)
